In this illustration, the right foot is free. Flight control awaits your command.

The launch sequence

Raise the knee of the free leg, then quickly straighten the leg, with the toe pointing down. The kicking foot does not take weight.

Flight safety announcement

The special effects are theatrical. A real dance kick should be controlled and appropriately sized. Please do not attempt to orbit your partner.

ROUNDALAB connection: KICK (kck) is a Phase II action: lift the free knee, then quickly extend the lower leg forward with the toe pointing downward, without a weight change. See the ROUNDALAB Standards. This cartoon is an educational interpretation, not an official illustration.
